Product description
An 'Amsterdam' cabinet, designed by Aldo van den Nieuwelaar for the Dutch manufacturer Pastoe. This piece is an icon of Dutch design, recognizable by its minimalist aesthetic and the characteristic plastic roller door that gives the furniture a graphic quality.
The cabinet is made with a body in a subtle, grey-beige hue, combined with a vibrant red plastic roller door. The interior is designed for maximum functionality, with a combination of open shelves and a section with multiple smaller compartments, ideal for organizing documents or smaller objects. The design dates from 1978 and reflects Van den Nieuwelaar's geometric and systematic approach, a principle central to his work and the Pastoe tradition.
The colors are bright and the roller door functions smoothly, which testifies to the durable quality Pastoe is known for. However, there are cracks in the roller door system, which is common with this system.
The original factory sticker is present.
