Knut Hesterberg is a world-renowned German sculptor who began his career at the graphic arts and design studio in Zurich, Switzerland. There he met the architect and artist Max Bill, who had a significant influence on Hesterberg's future work. Hesterberg's sculptures have been exhibited throughout Europe. Many of his large sculptures are on permanent display in public buildings throughout Germany, and some are also exhibited in Italy. In the late 1960s, he designed sculptural table forms, particularly for Ronald Schmitt Eberbach and, to a very limited extent, for Bacher Tische in Renningen near Stuttgart, aiming to bring art into people's everyday lives.

Condition:
The glass table is in technically and visually flawless, excellent, and virtually mint condition. It is very well cared for and shows only very minor signs of wear. The glass top is so well preserved that we assume the previous owner either replaced it or used tablecloths. It therefore has absolutely no chips, cracks, or breaks, nor the usual scratches from years of use. We could only detect one or two faint streaks when held up to the light, and that was it. The high-gloss chrome-plated rings are also like new and have none of the often-seen nicks and scratches. The small feet are also in very good condition; the often-seen nicks or dents in the base area are completely absent!
Conclusion: It will be extremely difficult to find a better one!
