Bad Abbach, GermanyView all items from this sellerThese chairs are an example of the "floating balance" between tradition and modernity that the "Viennese avant-garde" (around Hoffmann, Loos and Wagner), for example, was still capable of achieving at the beginning of the 20th century.
For this chair, solid beech wood is bent from a single piece in the back section and in the seat frame under the influence of steam. The seat frame is glued to the front frame with handcrafted finger joints.
Beech wood, silk matt lacquered. Height 74 cm, width 55 cm, depth 47 cm. Seat height 45 cm. Weight 5.6 kg.
