A beautiful set of four French porcelain kitchen canisters by FD Chauvigny, comprising the Sugar, Coffee, Tea, and Pepper models. Their silhouette is particularly representative of the Art Deco vocabulary. The geometric forms are built around fan-shaped lines and stepped volumes, while the angular-contoured lids extend this characteristic architecture of the 1930s. A design very different from traditional cylindrical jars, which gives the set a particularly successful decorative presence. The whiteness of the porcelain highlights a charming polychrome decoration of 18th-century inspired gallant scenes, depicting an elegant costumed couple. This contrast between a deliberately classical decoration and a resolutely geometric form is typical of the decorative taste of the interwar period. Each jar bears the mark Porcelaine France – FD Chauvigny on its base, a French manufacturer whose production accompanied a significant part of Chauvigny's porcelain history in the 20th century. The four pieces are preserved with their lids and are in very good overall condition, particularly remarkable for a set of this age. The photographs allow you to appreciate their beautiful preservation. The largest models reach approximately 16 cm in height, while the smallest measure around 12 cm, creating an attractive tiered composition when displayed together.
