The Eastside sofa
Ettore Sottsass
Italian architect and designer Ettore Sottsass designed this around 1983 in collaboration with furniture manufacturer Knoll International (part of the Eastside/Westside collection).
Features of the Eastside collection:
• Design style: The design embodies the typical postmodernist and geometric aesthetic of Sottsass and the Memphis movement, although the Eastside line for Knoll is somewhat more subdued and functional than much of his earlier radical work.
• Materials: This sofa features a steel or aluminum base (with lacquered or powder-coated legs in, for example, silver or black), wool upholstery (grey and blue)
