Materials:
The frame is a chromed metal, welded wireframe. Due to age, there are some scratches in the chrome (at the front of the seat). The frame has been cleaned and no oxidation is present.
The seat cushion upholstery is vinyl (by Knoll). These cushions were used outdoors, but not removed over the winter, so the push buttons did get oxidized. However, these do stay in place, even though they are not closed. The vinyl is resistant to stains and moisture. The back features the authentic Knoll logo.
The lining consists of a form-fitting foam and provides pleasant comfort.
Harry Bertoia was a complete artist. Knoll historian Brian Lutz once said, "Bertoia's paintings were better than his sculptures. And his sculptures were better than his furniture. And his furniture was absolutely brilliant.'
- Buttons of the seat cushions are oxidized these are outdoor cushions, but can certainly be used indoors.
- Here and there the chrome is a bit dull at the front on the seat, but with the cushions it is not so noticeable.
