This beautiful set of designer chairs is a feast for the eyes and also offers wonderful seating comfort and invites you to have a good conversation. The set is located in Friesland near Heerenveen. The foundations for Artifort were laid by Jules Wagemans. He settled in Maastricht in 1890 as a wallpaperer and upholsterer. His son Henricus Wagemans developed the company into a furniture factory. At the end of the 1920s, the company, which is now known throughout the country, had a showroom in Amsterdam. The economic recession of the 1930s forced H. Wagemans & Van Tuinen, as the furniture company was called at the time, to profile itself. Developing a catchy brand name plus a logo is a start. The furniture must of course also distinguish itself. The emphasis will be on functionality, comfort and quality combined with aesthetically pleasing design and innovative use of materials. In 1928 the new brand name is introduced: Artifort. Derived from the Latin word "Ars", meaning art or skill and "fortis" meaning strong or powerful. The word "comfort" can also be found in this brand name. Source: Artifort
