The DCM chair by Vitra is the result of early research by Charles and Ray Eames. DCM stands for "Dining Chair Metal" and refers to its metal base.
After years of experimentation, the design duo Charles and Ray Eames developed a method for adapting plywood to the contours of the human body. The chairs of the Plywood Group are the result of this research and remain timelessly modern, establishing themselves as true classics. The seat and backrest are made of molded plywood veneered in ash or walnut. The base is made of chromed or powder-coated tubular steel.
It measures 51.5 cm wide, 56.5 cm deep, and 73.5 cm high. The seat height is 40 cm.
