Product description
For sale: A particularly decorative, hand-blown art glass vase with a slender hourglass or garlic shape, widening into a generous, bulbous belly. The top is beautifully finished with an organically shaped collar with six flared pleats. The vase is made using the complex spatter or confetti technique, where bright, polychrome glass frits in primary shades (cobalt blue, lemon yellow, signal red, and partly opal white) are fused onto the glass core. This results in a dynamic interplay of vertical color bands. Characteristic of this specific piece is the refined, organic color gradient. Due to the mechanical stretching during manual blowing, the colors in the neck are extremely compact and intensely concentrated, while towards the base they form softer and more transparent elongated bands. This effect is enhanced by the thicker Lattimo inner layer at the bottom. Country: Italy. Brand: Attribution: Murano-style (in the manner of Fratelli Toso).
