Charming porcelain gravy boat with its integrated underplate, made by the L'Hirondelle manufactory in Mehun-sur-Yèvre during the 1980s. Located in a town intimately linked to the history of French porcelain, L'Hirondelle specialized in tableware and decorative objects under the name "Manufacture de cadeaux" (Gift Manufactory). The world of fishing and rivers enlivens the entire piece here. Several fish with delicate hues appear among small compositions of aquatic vegetation, spread over the body of the gravy boat and its underplate. A gilded frieze highlights the scalloped edge and follows the curves of the porcelain. The wide, raised handle, the pouring spout, and the gracefully undulating line compose an elegant and harmonious silhouette. The figurative decoration exudes a fresh and whimsical atmosphere. The luminous whiteness of the porcelain highlights the greens, browns, and golden accents as you observe it. The original label is still present under the underplate. It bears the inscriptions L'Hirondelle, Manufacture de cadeaux, Porcelaine, Mehun-sur-Yèvre 18500, France. Minor signs of use and age are visible in the photographs.
