Product description
Sculptural Italian coffee table dating from the 1970s, designed in the glamorous modernist aesthetic associated with Willy Rizzo. The composition combines a substantial dark wood plinth with an architectural geometric metal structure and a large rectangular smoked glass top. Highly reflective chrome-finished surfaces contrast beautifully with the rich wood tones, while the glass top creates a light, floating appearance above the substantial base. The strong geometric profile, luxurious mix of materials and low-slung proportions are characteristic of sophisticated Italian furniture design of the 1970s. The table works particularly well in Mid-Century Modern, Space Age, Hollywood Regency and contemporary interiors. Presented in good original vintage condition with minor signs of use and age consistent with its history.
