Product description
1970s Guzzini Red Space Age Height-Adjustable Mushroom Pendant Light, Italy
A striking vintage Italian Space Age pendant light by Guzzini, dating from the 1970s, featuring an iconic glossy red mushroom-shaped shade and an ingenious height-adjustable suspension system.
This exceptional ceiling fixture embodies the futuristic optimism and experimental design philosophy that defined Italian lighting during the Space Age era.
The sculptural shade is manufactured from molded red plastic, displaying beautifully rounded proportions and a vibrant polished surface that creates an eye-catching architectural presence.
Its distinctive silhouette is complemented by polished chrome details and a black spiral suspension cable, providing an attractive contrast between materials and colors.
Height-Adjustable Design
A defining characteristic of this pendant is its adjustable suspension mechanism, allowing the light to be positioned at different heights.
The black coiled cable forms an integral part of the design, reinforcing its authentic 1970s aesthetic while providing practical flexibility.
This feature makes the pendant particularly suitable for installation above dining tables, kitchen islands, breakfast areas, or as a decorative focal point in contemporary interiors.
Italian Space Age Design
During the 1960s and 1970s, Italian lighting manufacturers embraced innovative synthetic materials, vibrant colors, and sculptural organic forms.
This Guzzini pendant beautifully illustrates that design philosophy through its expressive mushroom silhouette, bold red coloration, and functional adjustable construction.
The lamp combines the playful visual language of Pop Art with the clean geometry of Italian modernism, making it a distinctive example of collectible vintage lighting.

The pendant features a molded plastic shade with a glossy red finish, complemented by metal fittings and an adjustable spiral cable suspension.
