Herman Miller Intermediate Chair, designed by Charies & Ray Eames
Manufactured by Herman Miller, USA. Chromed aluminium frame with restored leather upholstery. Base equipped with shivel fiction.
The Intermediate Chair was only produced by Herman Miller for 4 years and finally production was discontinued in 1972 in favor of the Alu Chair with softpad upholstery. This seating furniture was too elaborate, to expensive in manufacturing.
Charles & Ray Eanes themselves preferred the Intermediate Chair and choose this model for their office. Compared to the Aluminium Group Chair and with it’s seat pad it offers better comfort and certainly has a much more elaborate construction with striking details: Lines are more fluent and continue from the arm rests into the rear side.
The armchair is covered in leather which has been reupholstered in premium quality. This leather is absolutely fantastic and in aniline finish.
The frame shows signs of use like mild scratches and partially corrosion on the four star base. It is in good used condition with age-appropriate signs of use.
Further it is possible to reassemble it with wheels casters instead of the white glides - the four-star foot has the same mounts for glides as well as wheel casters.
