Charles and Ray Eames Charles and Ray Eames, the legendary twentieth-century design couple, are the subject of a major retrospective at London's Barbican Center until 14 February. With this major exhibition, the museum is paying tribute to the Eames' work in its entirety. The exhibition features 380 documents and projects, including personal letters, photographs, films, drawings, furniture and multimedia installations. The Barbican Center is offering us the chance to immerse ourselves in the world of the Eames, their environment and their pronounced taste for culture (architecture, furniture, graphic design, painting, sculpture, films, etc.)! If you have the opportunity to see this retrospective, you will be able to observe various multi-media works. These include a reproduction of their Glimpses of the USA installation, originally presented at the 1959 American National Exhibition in Moscow's Sokolniki Park. The 7 screens that make up this project were designed to show films highlighting the Western American way of life, and it is easy to deduce their pride in their country and their desire to help spread the success of the United States around the world.
