Today, we're taking you to our library to discover the book "100 chefs-d'oeuvre du design, dans les collections du Centre Pompidou 100 chefs-d'oeuvre du design, dans les collections du Centre Pompidou"! The Centre national d'art et de culture Georges-Pompidou was born of the desire to create a cultural institution dedicated to modern and contemporary creation, bringing together multiple arts: writing, painting, design, music and cinema. Two major and complementary players in the field of design are united within this famous cultural venue: the Centre de création industrielle (CCI) and the Musée national d'art moderne (MNAM). It was not until 1992 and the decision of Dominique Bozo - President of the Centre - that two exceptional and important collections dedicated to design and architecture came into being. Thanks to a policy of acquisitions, donations from designers and the Société des Amis du Musée, the collections have grown and now enjoy international recognition! They are regularly the subject of loan requests from major museums around the world. Of the 8,000 incredible pieces in the Centre Pompidou's collections, 100 were chosen for the book "100 chefs-d'oeuvre du design 100 masterpieces of design", written under the direction of Françoise Guichon and Frédéric Migayrou. This complex selection was driven by the desire to best represent the dynamism, richness and variety of the collections. As you read through the book, you will find not only iconic pieces but also works that are little known to the general public, French masterpieces, creations by foreign designers... A veritable palette representing the different artistic movements of the twentieth century! If you want to expand your knowledge of design by reading clear texts and discovering beautiful visuals, we highly recommend this beautiful book!
