The place where art lovers meet
Within an interior, almost nothing is more personal than art. The emotion and creativity put into it by its creator can always be found in everyone's own way. The uniqueness of art naturally makes its beauty, playfulness or, on the contrary, sombre and thus your interior a very personal environment.
Art
Let's start with the definition of art. Art is the conscious creation of something beautiful or meaningful using skill and imagination. It includes a range of human activities, including paintings and drawings, graphics, sculpture, modern media art, photography, film, architecture, literature and poetry. In other words, a lot of forms of art are available. With an image in the home, you create a story; since ancient times, people have been making pictures or images of what they observe. With art in the home, you present a certain reality, such as your wealth, happiness or passion for certain things.
With art, you create a conversation with the person looking at the object. A work of art should (hugely) impress the viewer and convey a feeling. Some paintings are so special that you can still think about them hours later. Something becomes real art when the creator succeeds in convincing the viewer of his or her intention behind the artwork. Successful art pieces give the viewer a new experience or insight.

Frequently Asked Questions
What should I look for when buying a second-hand artwork on Whoppah?
Every artwork on this page is a second-hand, one-off listing from a seller on Whoppah. Read the description in full and study the photos of edges, legs, joints, labels and any wear. Dimensions and materials should match what you see. If a detail is unclear, ask on the listing before you buy. Payment runs through the platform and every purchase is covered by buyer protection.
How is the condition of a second-hand artwork described on Whoppah?
The seller writes the condition of the artwork in the listing and shows it in photos. Look for close-ups of corners, fabric, wood, metal and any repair. Whoppah does not rewrite that description. If you need a closer look at a scratch or a stain, ask on the listing. Every purchase is covered by buyer protection, and the item is a one-off second-hand piece, not a shop-floor sample.
How does delivery work for a second-hand artwork bought on Whoppah?
The seller can ship the artwork, or you can book a Whoppah courier where that option is shown on the listing. Large furniture usually travels by courier rather than as a small parcel. The listing states who arranges transport. Every purchase is covered by buyer protection. If the piece that arrives does not match the listing, contact support so the case can be handled under the returns policy.
