This item is an Organon Teknika Minivisor, a historical medical instrument from the 1970s. It is the world's first portable, battery-operated echograph, a milestone in medical technology. The device was developed in the Netherlands in collaboration with Organon Teknika and a team led by echo pioneer Prof. Dr. Ir. Klaas Bom. Its distinctive yellow and black design, made of plastic and metal, was intended as a 'visual stethoscope'. This specific example is a complete set, including the original aluminum case, the manual, cables, and a bottle of contact gel. Visually, the set is in very good and complete condition, which is rare for an object of this age. Its historical value is underscored by the presence of similar examples in the collections of the Rijksmuseum Boerhaave and The Science Museum Group in London. The device is untested and offered as a decorative collector's item. As an important piece of Dutch design and medical heritage, this Minivisor is a meaningful addition to a collection of scientific instruments or as a unique decorative object in an interior with a fondness for technological history.
