About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
Exceptional Tecta collection by Hans Könecke – with special provenance
For sale: a special and very complete ensemble of Tecta furniture designed by Hans Könecke, consisting of:
Tecta N33 Desk
Tecta D49 office chair
Tecta D48 chairs two pieces
original Tecta sideboard/dresser by Hans Könecke
The furniture is located in the house specifically built for Hans Könecke and where he himself lived.
This makes it an exceptional collection for the serious enthusiast and collector of Tecta and German mid-century design.
The Desk and the chairs
The N33 is combined with the characteristic D49 office chair and two D48 chairs. This creates an exceptionally complete work/meeting ensemble.
The D49 is one of Hans Könecke's most important designs. Tecta itself states that Könecke developed the design in his studio in Caracas and that series production at Tecta began in the late 1950s. Tecta still produces the D49.
The D48 is the derived chair for visitors.
The original Tecta sideboard
The large sideboard is a special part of the collection. It is made of beautiful dark wood veneer and features a very fine, almost continuous wood grain.
Two small damages, see photos
Particularly important for authenticity is the original Tecta-Möbel label on the inside, which literally states:
TECTA MÖBEL
Design: Dipl. Ing. Hans Könecke
The complete collection has been fully restored and is in very good condition.
The woodwork, upholstery, and construction have been carefully restored.
The Desk has one small lock that is currently not fully functional. Otherwise, the Desk is in excellent condition.
