ZEISS IKON ZI001 CHROME
Beautiful designer lamp by Zeiss Ikon in a chrome finish. The lamp originates from the former E.N.C.K. building in Vlaardingen. This building was designed by the architectural firm J.W.C. Boks, W. Eijkelenboom, and A. Middelhoek for E.N.C.K.-Delta Chemie in Vlaardingen. Unlike the ZI001 Zeiss Ikon designer lamp, this lamp has been completely redesigned. The upper part of the lamp has been sandblasted and finished with three layers of powder coating to achieve a chrome effect. The Zeiss Ikon ZI001 Bauhaus Lamp Chrome is a showpiece for any interior.
DESIGN LAMP WITH A PAST
These lamps were originally designed by modernist Adolf Meyer. Adolf Meyer was an assistant to Peter Behrens and a teacher at the Bauhaus Institute in Weimar. The mirror reflector is made entirely of glass. The exterior has a light grey coating. The glass is finished with a silver coating. The metal holder has a new socket (E27). This socket is suitable for LED bulbs. The Zeiss Ikon ZI001 Bauhaus lamps are supplied as standard with silver-colored textile (grounded) wiring.

The Zeiss Ikon lamp has been fully restored and redesigned by hand with respect for the original. For instance, the upper part of the fixture has been sandblasted and given no less than three layers of powder coating to achieve a beautiful chrome effect. Subsequently, the lamp has been further finished with new grounded textile wiring in a beautiful silver color. With this, the luminaire once again fully complies with current standards. Heritage that fits perfectly into today's times. The glass shade features a mirrored interior combined with an exterior finished in a matte light grey coating. A characteristic element of Zeiss Ikon production is the internal mirror reflector. This is capable of amplifying the lamp's intensity.
The fixture has been reblasted and powder coated in chrome color. Glassware may show very light vintage traces of history. Lamps are between 70 and 90 years young ... but still look great.
