ZEISS IKON ZI001 CHROME
Beautiful design lamp by Zeiss Ikon in Chrome finish. The lamp comes from the former E.N.C.K building in Vlaardingen. This building was designed by architects J.W.C. Boks, W. Eijkelenboom and A. Middelhoek for E.N.C.K.-Delta chemistry in Vlaardingen. Unlike the ZI001 Zeiss Ikon design lamp, this lamp is completely redesigned. The upper part of the lamp has been blasted and coated with three layers of powder coating to create a Chrome effect. The Zeiss Ikon ZI001 Bauhaus Lamp Chrome is a showpiece for any decor.
DESIGN LAMP WITH A PAST
Once upon a time, these lamps were designed by modernist Adolf Meyer. Adolf Meyer was an assistant to Peter Behrens and a teacher at the Bauhaus Institute in Weimar. The mirror reflector is made entirely of glass. The exterior has a light gray coating. The glass is trimmed with silver coating. The metal holder has a new fitting (E27). This fitting is suitable for LED bulbs. The Zeiss Ikon ZI001 Bauhaus lamps come standard with silver textile (grounded) wiring.

The Zeiss Ikon lamp has been completely hand restored and redesigned with respect for the original. For example, the upper part of the fixture was blasted and coated with no less than three coats of powder coat to achieve a beautiful chrome effect. Then the lamp was further finished with new grounded textile wiring, in a beautiful silver color. This brings the fixture back fully up to current standards. Heritage that fits completely with the times of today. The glass shade is mirrored on the inside combined with an exterior finished in a matte light gray coating. A characteristic element of Zeiss Ikon production is the mirror reflector on the inside. This is capable of amplifying the intensity of the lamp.
The fixture has been reblasted and powder coated in chrome color. Glassware may show very light vintage traces of history. Lamps are between 70 and 90 years young ... but still look great.
