A “Zefiro” pendant lamp designed by Giuseppe Ramella for Arteluce in the 1980s, a project that interprets light through a carefully balanced composition of geometric forms and materials. Essential in its construction yet refined in every detail, it reflects Arteluce's design language during a period when lighting evolved into a furnishing element capable of shaping a space through pure volumes and measured proportions.
The composition is centred around a large white lacquered metal disc, crossed by a central stem supporting two satin blue glass diffusers positioned above and below the main plane. The contrast between the solid metal surface and the soft translucency of the glass creates a refined visual balance, while the different elements appear to float effortlessly, forming a harmonious suspended composition.
When unlit, it stands out for its strong graphic presence and the clarity of its proportions; once illuminated, the satin glass diffuses a soft and even light, creating a warm atmosphere while preserving the sculptural identity of the design. A pendant that naturally embodies the spirit of Italian design in the 1980s, where formal simplicity and material quality come together in perfect balance.
