Product description
Very rare 'Smirne' chaise longue with matching ottoman
Designed in 1987 by Gianfranco Gualtierotti and Mazzoni Delle Stelle, and produced for a short period in 1988 by Zanotta, Italy. This adjustable recliner has a cast metal base combined with a chrome-plated tubular frame. The upholstery is finished in dark brown leather.
For Gualtierotti and Mazzoni Delle Stelle, something concrete began to emerge after their meeting with Aurelio Zanotta. The concept of an adjustable rocking chair impressed him and led to a request for further development of an armchair with multiple seating positions. The result of this search for the perfect balance between form and function was the "Smirne.
