Product description
The 'Sculpture Chair' is a unique collaboration between Finnish designer Yrjö Kukkapuro and artist Kimmo Pyykkö, produced by Joros Oy. This piece represents a fascinating intersection of industrial design and fine art, elevating a functional object into a sculptural statement.
Constructed from perforated metal, the chair features a sleek, minimalist frame that highlights its geometric form.
The backrest is decorated with the relief of “Tired” sculpture designed by Kimmo Pyykkö in 1977.
The “Sculpture Chair” is based on Yrjö Kukkapuro’s experiment in the 1960s, which Kimmo Pyykkö later casted in as a part of his sculpture “Tired”.
The chair is a prototype of the Sculpture chair created in collaboration with Yrjö Kukkapuro and Kimmo Pyykö. The chair was made in 2011.
This piece serves as a striking focal point in a contemporary living space, gallery, or study. It pairs exceptionally well with minimalist interiors, industrial lofts, or spaces that celebrate mid-century modern and postmodern design heritage.
