Product description
The ceramic plate richly decorated with multicolored exotic fish is an iconic work by Breton artist Yves-Alain Pleuven, known as Youen. Born in 1929 and deceased in 2015, Pleuven captured the essence of the sea and marine life through his unique creations. Influenced by Bernard Buffet, his art, developed in Quimper, is distinguished by a vibrant palette and bold motifs that evoke the beauty and diversity of the ocean. Each plate he produces tells a story, blending traditional craftsmanship with contemporary creativity, testifying to his commitment to offering exceptional pieces that delight art and ceramics lovers alike. These works are not just utilitarian, they become true objets d'art, celebrating the richness of Breton culture.
