Exceptional wall clock by German interior and object designer Otto Louis, created between 1975 and 1980.
An impressive wall sculpture that combines the rigor of a geometric composition with the subtle poetry of subtly arranged materials.
Nine square panels in degraded shades of silver, grey and white form a minimalist grid encircling a silent clock with a quartz movement.
The relief features subtle gradients and concentric shapes reminiscent of 1970s kinetic works.
In perfect working order and excellent cosmetic condition.
Otto Louis (1929-2006), originally from Buchholz, did not conceive his works as mass products, but as art on the object – unique pieces for high-end living spaces and architectural interiors. The original typed cover letter attached testifies to his design philosophy and gives this piece a particular authenticity. A fascinating design object brilliantly combining art, architecture and functionality
