Product description
This is a unique wall object and clock, hand-signed by the artist Otto Louis and dating from the 1970s or 1980s. The work is a characteristic example of the Brutalist style, combining raw materials and an expressive texture into a functional work of art.
The object is made from a mix of materials, set in an aluminum frame of approximately 50 by 50 centimeters. The dial is divided into quadrants with various finishes, including brushed and patinated metal and a three-dimensional, crumpled material that creates depth and interplay of shadows. The color scheme includes shades of gray, brown, and black, with accents of ochre yellow that emphasize the texture.
The overall condition is good and consistent with its age, with an authentic patina that contributes to the character of the piece. The clockwork is functional and subtly integrated into the design, ensuring that the artistic value takes precedence. The signature of 'O. Louis' is visible on the surface, confirming its authenticity.
As a striking statement piece, this wall clock is ideally suited for an interior with a fondness for vintage, design, or eclectic styles. It functions both as a time indicator and as a sculptural work of art on the wall.
