Product description
Beautiful vintage 'Made to Measure' sideboard, designed by Cees Braakman and produced by Pastoe in the 1960s. The Made-to-Measure series is known for its modularity, where various elements could be flexibly combined, adapted to space and personal wishes.
This cabinet comes from the estate of the first owners from Huizen and was purchased at the time together with an SM08 dining set from Pastoe. A cool piece of history that has been preserved with the cabinet.
The sideboard has been fully restored in our workshop with respect for the original design and preservation of its characteristic appearance. The rosewood veneer has been refinished with a protective silk-matte finish, bringing out the deep color and impressive wood grain prominently again. The beautiful grain gives the furniture a warm and luxurious look, with each front showing its own unique pattern. Inside, signs of use are visible.
Characteristic of the design is its clean lines. No superfluous details, but a clear composition in which the rich rosewood veneer plays the main role. The subtle metal handles and the slender metal base form accents that reinforce the clean lines, without distracting attention from the magnificent wood. The top is fitted with a black glass plate. Originally, the sideboard was part of a combination with an upper cabinet.
In addition to its aesthetic features, the sideboard was clearly designed with functionality as its starting point. The four spacious drawers offer plenty of room for smaller items, while behind the doors there are generous storage compartments for crockery, books, audio equipment or other items. Its generous dimensions also make the furniture very suitable as a stylish sideboard or TV cabinet. Dutch design at its best!
