Striking Brutalist sideboard made of Belgian oak. Geometric elegance of 1960s furniture design. The piece is crafted from solid veneered oak and features a symmetrical front with four central drawers, flanked by two pairs of cabinet doors. The doors are decorated with recessed, square panels, creating a distinctive architectural look, while the drawers are finished with minimalist black rectangular handles.
The original factory label is still attached to the back but is unfortunately torn and illegible. It likely listed the maker responsible for the construction, the model, and the brand. The clean lines, sculptural door panels, and balanced proportions make it perfectly suited for both rustic and modern interiors.
At renowned auction houses such as ‘Carlo Bonte Auctions’, this cabinet is described as an XL Brutalist sideboard by De Coene.
The cabinet is in neat and good condition. The door and drawer handles show some paint loss here and there. The cabinet was professionally sprayed with high-quality black furniture stain using compressed air, ensuring this top-quality piece will last for many years to come. During the restoration, 100% attention was paid to the originality of the furniture. There are occasional signs of use in the form of inconspicuous scratches and stains.
