This is a handmade vintage wrought iron boudoir chair (also known as an ice cream parlor chair or bistro chair), likely dating from the period between the 1930s and 1950s.Features of the chairDesign & Style: The chair features an elegant and theatrical design that touches upon Art Deco and Mid-Century Hollywood Regency styles. The backrest and legs are decorated with elegant curved scrollwork (scroll motifs). Material: The frame is made entirely of hand-forged black metal/wrought iron. Seat & Backrest: Both the round seat and the oval medallion backrest are upholstered in a dark-colored (probably dark green or black) velvet or velour fabric. Such chairs were often used at the time as decorative occasional chairs in the bedroom in front of a dressing table (boudoir chair) or in chic ice cream parlors.
