Product description
Impressive Space Age cascade pendant lamp by Wortmann & Filz, manufactured in Germany in the 1970s. The lamp consists of eight individual chrome spheres suspended at different heights, forming a sculptural cascade. Each chrome sphere is equipped with an E14 fitting, with the large round light source remaining partially visible at the bottom. This creates a characteristic warm light point that beautifully contrasts with the reflective chrome. The repetition of the eight identical elements and the staggered suspension give the lamp a distinct spatial character. The reflective surfaces reflect both the interior and the other light points, causing the composition to change from every angle. A distinct example of German Space Age design from the 1970s, in which simple geometric shapes, chrome, and light are combined into one sculptural object. The lamp is in neat vintage condition. The chrome presents beautifully and shows light signs of wear and patina consistent with age and use. Dimensions are as follows: height 170 cm, diameter 46 cm. Carefully selected vintage design. Professionally restored where necessary, with respect for the original design, craftsmanship, and materials used.
