This is an authentic thigh bone (tibia) of a woolly mammoth, the Mammuthus primigenius. This fossil bone is a fascinating piece of history from the Ice Age, an era tens of thousands of years behind us. It is a unique object that makes the enormous size of these prehistoric animals tangible.
