An Italian sideboard from the 1960s, characterised by elongated proportions and an essential design reflecting the language of Italian modernism of the period. The rigorously symmetrical front combines two lateral storage compartments with a central bank of drawers, creating a balanced relationship between functionality and visual lightness. Made of veneered wood, the sideboard features a warm, regular grain enhanced by the vertical arrangement of the veneer on the doors and the horizontal grain of the drawer fronts. The façade is composed of four doors and four central drawers, the upper one fitted with a green felt lining and internal dividers for cutlery. Small brass knobs provide a refined material contrast with the wood, while the slender, slightly tapered legs raise the cabinet from the floor and emphasise its horizontal proportions. The attention to detail and balanced proportions make this sideboard representative of Italian furniture design of the 1960s, a period in which functionality, material quality and formal clarity defined a new approach to domestic interiors. Its generous dimensions and rational internal organisation give the piece a strong presence while retaining a restrained aesthetic that integrates naturally into contemporary spaces.
