Product description
Description of the painting
In this work, a female figure lies stretched out over a deep blue background. Her posture is loose and vulnerable, almost as if she has completely surrendered to a moment of rest, fatigue, or stillness.
The figure is composed of dark greens, reddish-browns, and earthy tones. The bright red-orange hair forms a striking color accent and immediately draws attention. Contrasting with the cool blue of the background, the body gains extra warmth and presence.
The background is richly composed of layers of ochre, gray, white, red, and dark tones. Scratches, textures, and layered paint give the work a weathered and tangible character. As a result, the space surrounding the woman does not appear literal, but rather a reflection of an inner world.
The body is not depicted in detail or ideally. The form remains rough and expressive, making the posture more important than recognizability. This gives the work something human and vulnerable.
The painting can be interpreted as a moment of letting go: having to do nothing for a while, not adopting a posture, not choosing a direction. At the same time, strength remains present in the figure. She lies still, but does not disappear.
As a result, the work is about rest, vulnerability, and the right to pause for a moment.
