Spectacular circular convex "witch mirror" with a gilt bronze frame. Of French origin, made around 1950. The frame features a diagonal cross structure, with each arm adorned with floral motifs. Between the arms is an ornamental grid with a diamond pattern.
Convex mirrors were known as "witch mirrors" because they were believed to possess magical powers, such as visually confusing witches if they entered the home. In reality, placed opposite a window or door, they illuminate the interior of the house. Its size makes it perfect for decorating any room. It is a highly fashionable piece in today's market.
