Chantalle Smeets has developed a style entirely her own, which is evident in her sculptures made of bronze, stone, ceramics, and wood. Her source of inspiration is nature. Her art radiates joie de vivre, strength, and beauty, possessing a distinct and unique character. The stillness of her sculptures can offer a moment of introspection and peace, a touch of something greater beyond thought. This is what nature can also offer us, as well as the necessity of our connection with nature. She wishes to share this through her art. Together with her partner and artist Martiene Stevens, they manage Kunsthuis Trobar.
