This white earthenware chamber pot is a piece from the Digoin & Sarreguemines manufactory, one of the most important French ceramic manufacturers, whose marking on the bottom reliably attests to its origin. The shape is classic and well-proportioned. The bulbous body rests on a stable annular foot. The flared rim forms a wide horizontal collar, characteristic of the manufactory's sanitary productions. The round handle, solidly attached, elegantly completes the silhouette. The shiny ivory white glaze is uniform and undecorated. It is the plain white model, the most understated and timeless in the range, found in bourgeois interiors of the first half of the 20th century. The "Digoin & Sarreguemines France" marking with a coat of arms allows the piece to be dated to approximately between 1875 and 1950, the period of use for this stamp. The piece is in very good condition, with intact interior and exterior glaze. Inner diameter 20 cm, height approximately 14 cm. Today collected and repurposed from its original use, this chamber pot naturally finds its place as a generous planter, a vase for branches, or a collector's item. Its milky whiteness and ample shape harmonize equally well with a country-style interior or a sleek contemporary decor.
