Product description
Centerpiece / soup tureen in white ceramic with blue stripes, made by Galvani Pordenone in the 1950s, Ø 25 cm, h 16 cm. The Galvani Manufacture of Pordenone was one of the pillars of the Italian ceramic industry, with a history spanning over a century. Founded in 1811 by Giuseppe Galvani, this factory was a benchmark for the production of high-quality earthenware, significantly contributing to the city's economic and cultural development. Galvani immediately distinguished itself by the quality of its products, made with selected raw materials and crafted by master artisans. Its ceramics, characterized by an elegant and functional design, were highly appreciated both in Italy and abroad. The use of an anchor graphic symbol as a distinctive mark helped strengthen the manufacturer's identity and make it recognizable in the market. Galvani was not only a productive enterprise but represented a true engine of industrial development for Pordenone. The factory provided work for hundreds of people and contributed to the city's economic growth. Unfortunately, a tragic fire in 1921 heavily damaged the facilities, but Galvani managed to recover and continue its activities. In subsequent years, Galvani adapted to market changes and introduced new product lines, always maintaining a high-quality standard. However, economic difficulties and increasing competition led to its closure in 1979. Despite the end of production, the Galvani brand continues to be synonymous with excellence and represents an important chapter in Italian industrial history.
