Product description
A large and expressive painting by Dutch artist Wouter Stips, created in the 2000s. The composition unfolds as a playful and layered visual narrative, populated by stylized human figures, symbolic elements and dreamlike imagery.
Executed in acrylic on canvas, the work is defined by its vibrant and balanced color palette soft pastels contrasted with vivid accents creating both tension and harmony within the scene. The central landscape, with its loosely rendered tree and architectural forms, is surrounded by floating figures and surreal motifs, giving the composition a sense of movement and imagination.
Stips’ distinctive visual language merges figuration with abstraction, often incorporating humor and poetic symbolism. The simplified forms and childlike perspective are deliberate, revealing a deeper exploration of perception, memory and storytelling.
The scale of the work enhances its presence, making it a strong focal point within an interior or collection.
