Product description
70s battle scene of horses with chariot from the Roman period. It is made with a technique of multiple layers (see detail photos) which was also used on the famous fat lava vases. The tile is quite large and heavy and an eye catcher in a vintage interior. Ruscha was one of the prominent ceramic producers during the heyday of West German Pottery (WGP), a style known for its striking glazes and expressive forms. Characteristics of Ruscha Ceramics: Glazing Techniques: Ruscha was known for vibrant colors and lava glazes, with the surface often having a rough, molten appearance. 2. Popular designs: Signature: Pieces are often marked "Ruscha," "Made in West Germany" or just a model number. Materials: High-quality clay with often thick, colorful glazes.
