This Werner Biermann armchair for Arte Sano Colombia from the 1970s is a true eye-catcher. The design combines robust wood with thick saddle leather and is a striking example of the Brutalist movement within mid-century modern design.
The sturdy wooden frame is expertly upholstered in cognac-colored leather, secured with striking leather laces for a rugged effect. The chair is 57 cm wide, 74 cm deep, and 73 cm high, with a low, relaxed seat height of 26 cm. The piece is clearly marked by the maker on the underside, confirming its special origin in Colombia.
The armchair is in good vintage condition and has developed an authentic character over the years. The leather and wood display a lively patina that gives the chair a lived-in, warm appearance.
