28 x 40 inches = 70 × 100 cm
Famous quote: "We came all this way to explore the Moon, but the most important thing is the Earth we discovered."
While the Apollo missions sought to reveal the Moon, they also forcefully revealed the limitations of our own planet. The idea of a Spaceship Earth, with its interdependent ecologies and limited resources, has become the icon of a growing environmental movement concerned about the ecological impacts of industrialization and population growth. As astronaut Jim Lovell said during the Apollo 8 live broadcast: "The great solitude is awe-inspiring and makes you realize what you have out there on Earth."
