Product description
Original and unique work of art, watercolor on paper, painting of a cottage in the countryside in Hervé (Liège), by José Wolff (1885-1964), signed and dated June 1924 at bottom right and back.
This beautiful painting is framed in its original frame, a classic gold baroque style frame made of pine.
José Wolff, born in Liege on Feb. 18, 1885 and died in Liege on Feb. 23, 1964, was a Belgian painter of landscapes, portraits, still lifes and nudes. He also designed posters and was part of the Walloon Luminist movement.
He painted mostly with oils on canvas, wood or paper; a watercolor by this artist is less common.
This object is in very good antique condition, no damage to the piece, the frame is also in good antique condition consistent with its age and subject matter. Signs of age and use at the corners, but the whole piece is still very solid and still looks very good for being over 100 years old. Check the photos for more details!
