About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
The Wassily chair, originally designed by Marcel Breuer, is an icon of modernist design. This piece stands out for its architectural silhouette and innovative use of materials, making it a key piece in the history of 20th-century design.
The frame is made of chromed tubular steel, bent to form a continuous, lightweight frame. The seats, backrests, and armrests are made of black leather straps, taut for support and comfort. The combination of polished metal and dark leather creates a sharp visual contrast, typical of the Bauhaus aesthetic.
The overall condition is good, with signs of wear consistent with age and use. The leather retains its original character, displaying a natural patina that adds depth to the piece, while the chrome frame maintains its structural integrity.
This chair fits perfectly into modern, minimalist, or industrial interiors. It can serve as a focal point in a living room or study, pairing well with glass coffee tables or clean-lined furnishings.
