This is a vintage physical world map, published by the renowned German cartographic institute Justus Perthes Darmstadt. Titled "De Aarde" (The Earth) This large-scale educational chart is part of the Haack-Painke series, known for its detailed and scientifically accurate representations. Printed in Dutch, the map showcases the world's topography with a rich colour palette indicating elevation, from green lowlands to orange and red mountain ranges. It is presented at a scale of 1:16,000,000, offering a comprehensive view of continents, oceans, and major geographical features. The piece is constructed on canvas mounted on black wooden dowels at the top and bottom, consistent with its original function as a classroom roll-up map. . The publisher is noted as Justus Perthes, Darmstadt, with the Dutch adaptation credited to M. Goossens and distribution by Strenua N.V. Brussel.
