A unique and rare pair (pendant) of Mid-Century modern vases from the renowned German manufacturer Walther-Glas from the 1970s. This concerns the extremely rare, large variant with an impressive height of 27.5 cm.
Iconic Design in the Style of Bjørn Wiinblad
The vases are a textbook example of the Figurative Mid-Century aesthetic.
The design is strongly inspired by the work of the Danish artist Bjørn Wiinblad: A stylized human figure is visible in relief, in which the head forms the cup and the arms gracefully hold a flower. The Deep Cobalt Blue Pressed Glass Contrasts Beautifully with the Hand-Painted Gold Details.
Craftsman Detail
A Special Feature of This Set Is the Weight Difference Between the Two Objects (745 grams and 857 grams). Because in the 1970s the liquid glass was still manually measured and cut by the glassmaster, this difference of 112 grams is the ultimate proof of artisanal and authentic glassware.
