An XL floor light by German ceramist Walter Gerhards from the 1970s. The piece is characteristic of the West German ceramic period, with a sculptural base and an original lampshade that diffuses a warm, soft light.
The base is made of ceramic with a 'fat lava' glaze in brown and cream tones. The conical shade is made of textile and finished with a decorative woven band. This lamp adds an atmospheric, retro element to a living room or reading corner and fits well into a Mid-Century Modern or eclectic interior.
