This offering consists of two separate cabinets, each measuring 180 cm in width, which can be used individually as standalone sideboards or combined to form an impressive large-scale modular credenza of 360 cm. This flexibility makes the piece exceptionally suitable for both residential and architectural interiors.
Two rare and highly desirable mid-century modern wall-mounted sideboards/credenzas, designed by Antoine Philippon and Jacqueline Lecoq and manufactured by Bofinger, circa 1958.
These exceptional pieces are executed in richly figured cherry wood, one of the most sought-after materials in high-end mid-century furniture, paired with a contrasting light wood interior. Each sideboard features two adjustable shelves and one has two hidden drawers, making them ideal for storage as a sideboard, media console, or credenza.
The façade is defined by matte white laminate doors, creating a clean, minimalist aesthetic strongly associated with European modernism and Bauhaus-influenced design.
A standout collectible, this design reflects the refined and rational approach of Philippon & Lecoq, whose work bridges French modernism and German industrial production of the post-war period.

Antoine Philippon (1930–1995) and Jacqueline Lecoq (b. 1932) were central figures in the development of post-war French design, whose collaborative practice articulated a rigorous and refined vision of modernism. Trained in architecture, Philippon brought a structural and spatial logic to their work, while Lecoq contributed a nuanced sensitivity to material, proportion, and domestic use.
From the 1950s onward, their designs explored the intersection of industrial production and architectural clarity, resulting in furniture that is both rational in construction and elegant in presence. Working with manufacturers such as Behr and Bofinger, they developed a body of work distinguished by its modularity, precision, and adaptability—anticipating evolving modes of living in the post-war period.
