About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
This is a bronze sculpture by Atelier Peeters, titled "Walking Icarus". The work captures a dynamic moment, combining figurative representation and abstract form, characteristic of modern, expressive sculpture.
The sculpture is cast in bronze and features a rich, dark brown patina that accentuates its textured, almost raw surface. The piece is signed "Atelier Peeters" and appears to be dated, also an E.A 6, confirming its origin and authenticity. The composition depicts the mythological figure Icarus, not flying, but in a powerful, earthly stride, with his wings transformed into a heavy, cloak-like form.
The sculpture is in excellent condition, with the artist's intended patina and surface structure fully preserved. Its character is defined by the tension between movement and weight, and the expressive, handcrafted quality of the bronze.
This artwork would form a significant focal point on a console, dresser, or pedestal within a modern or eclectic interior. It combines well with natural materials such as wood and stone, where the metallic warmth and dynamic form are fully showcased.
