Wendy van Vondel (1959) is a born and bred Haarlem painter, specialized in painting oil portraits.
She gets her inspiration from the Art Deco style movement. Bright colors and clean lines can therefore be found in the portraits that Wendy paints.
Her strength is clearly present in her realistic and impressive portraits in which she magically brings unique character traits to life. Mixing is done on the palette but also while applying the paint to the canvas.
In addition to her portraits, she seeks more experimentation in her modern and figurative paintings in her free work. Usually a female character plays the lead role.
This free work, (self) portrait inspired by the bust of Nefertiti, clearly shows the professional qualities of this artist.
