The Polder sofa is the big brother of the Polder Compact sofa, designed by Dutch designer Hella Jongerius for the manufacturer Vitra. Despite her aversion to this type of furniture, Rolf Fehlbaum, the then director of Vitra, managed to convince her to design a sofa entirely according to her ideas. Unlike the Polder Compact sofa, the Polder sofa is wider and open on one side. The name of this extravagant sofa is derived from the Dutch term for the flat land reclaimed from the sea, the polder. It has a width of 260 centimeters, a depth of 97 centimeters, and a height of 82 centimeters. This includes the left section of the sofa (the pouf), which is 64 centimeters wide, 83 centimeters deep, and 35 centimeters high. The seat height of the sofa is also 35 centimeters. The sofa has a wooden frame and a filling of polyurethane foam with springs and polyester fleece.
This is a limited edition in pastel pink. It is in perfect condition except for a slight discoloration on the pouf (see photo) from the light. And one button is missing (but I still have it - see photo). Otherwise, as good as new. Always used with a thick spray.
