An authentic Eames Plastic Armchair LAR, produced by Vitra. This iconic design by Charles and Ray Eames from 1950 combines an organically shaped seat shell with a distinctive, low wire base, known as the 'Cat's Cradle'. The model was one of the design duo's personal favorites and was frequently used in their own Eames House.
The seat shell is made of through-dyed polypropylene in a deep black shade, ensuring a durable and matte finish. The base consists of a complex yet elegant network of black powder-coated steel wire, giving the chair its low, relaxed profile. The combination of the ergonomic shell and the informal base makes the LAR a versatile and compact armchair.
This piece is in unused condition, as confirmed by the absence of any signs of wear. The chair fully retains its original factory finish and structural integrity. The Vitra production sticker on the underside of the seat confirms its authenticity and recent production in Germany.
Thanks to its modest size and timeless aesthetic, the LAR is ideally suited as an accent chair in a living room, reading nook, or bedroom. The chair seamlessly fits into both modern and Mid-Century inspired interiors and functions excellently as a solitary design object.
